Main idea – the clue of your PowerPoint presentation
Let’s start from the beginning. It’s not enough to start with the current slide, “click through” graphics, content, transitions, and animations, and then think “it will work somehow.” This approach will not earn attention, engagement, or, most importantly, the participants’ investment in your presentation. What is most important in preparing for your presentation?
The key thought you want to leave with your audience. Something that will stick with them for a long time. It is important that this sentence, statement, or reflection is the most visible and immediately noticeable, especially in the final part of the presentation, e.g., on the last slide. If this single thought embeds itself in your audience’s mind, you can already consider your presentation a huge success.
Note: do not choose more than 2 – 3 such golden thoughts from your presentation. The rest will fade from the audience’s memory after a few days. Focus on what is a priority for you at the moment.

GOOD RESEARCH BEFORE CREATING A PRESENTATION
Without an excellent knowledge of the topic you want to present, you won’t be an effective speaker. Take care of proper research so that no question from the audience will surprise you. From the beginning, you must be professionally and substantively prepared for the presentation. After all, your boss, investor, or future client will be in front of you. Or perhaps it will be your team during a training session. The more participants, the more potential difficult questions.
Without a doubt, your audience must feel that you know what you are talking about. Prepare a handful of statistics and interesting facts about the topic so you can use them at the right moment during the presentation. These are so-called attention grabbers that stick in memory and stimulate the minds of your audience.
POWERPOINT PRESENTATION PLAN STEP BY STEP
Have you already gathered your material and selected the main idea of your slide show? Great, then let’s move on to the next steps in preparing the presentation. It’s time for the presentation plan, which is essentially the rules of your speech. It’s a collection of points you must cover in your talk before the grand finale – the clue and the punchline of your presentation.
PRESENTATION SCENARIO IS A FOUNDATION OF SUCCESS
Before designing slides, outline the entire presentation in points – where to start, which topics to expand, which to summarize, what captions and headings to place on the slides. Then you just transfer it all to the slides and supplement it with the necessary data. No blocks of text, no unnecessary fillers or information that gives the audience no value. Your slide show should be simple, concrete, and engaging.
TEXTS AND CONTENT FOR THE PRESENTATION
How to keep the audience’s attention? Above all, shorten the texts! Leave only truly interesting points and topics on the slides, without which your presentation cannot exist. Everyone is coming to listen to you, not read tiny print on a slide. Large, visible text, key phrases, data, statistics, and slogans – that’s the foundation of creating effective presentations.

GRAPHICS AND ANIMATIONS BEFORE THE PRESENTATION
For this, company presentation graphics should be minimalist and well thought out. Make sure the graphic elements you use are of good quality. The style of graphics or images matters. Try to make it consistent, just like the color scheme of the slides. It’s important that visual effects do not overshadow the content you want to deliver. Otherwise, you will achieve the opposite of the intended effect. Form cannot cover substance. Backgrounds should be subtle and light so that text on the slides is clearly visible.
TOOLS FOR CREATING GRAPHIC FOR THE PRESENTATION THAT YOU CAN’T IGNORE
If you lack ideas for slide graphics and are not a professional designer, use simple tools for creating graphics and animations, such as Canva or Visme.
Do not use the standard image sets in PowerPoint – everyone has seen them hundreds of times. It will be obvious that you did it “quickly.” Basic program features also will not give you the “wow” effect you need.
