Photos and images always attract attention during presentations. However, avoid using the image libraries built into your presentation software, like PowerPoint, Prezi, or Google Slides. Everyone has seen those images and photos hundreds of times.
There are plenty of paid and free high-quality image search engines online that provide PNG graphics that will impress and enhance your slides. Free stock image sources include graphics and photos for presentation such as Pixabay, Pexels, Unsplash, and Picjumbo.
Canva has an extensive database of useful graphics. Unlike offline tools such as PowerPoint, the collections are constantly updated, so you always have a fresh supply of images and photos “at your fingertips”, or rather at your mouse cursor.

Avoid default PowerPoint themes – some are outdated from Windows 98.

Graphic bullet points, tables, highlighted statistics, charts, and diagrams. Remove huge text blocks that nobody will read from presentation. This is not a school essay, it’s a show designed to capture your audience’s attention. The focus is on you – the presentation is only meant to complement your speech with infographics, images, and photos. Make your data memorable and create slides that deliver a “wow” effect.
